STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL 5K and SEEDLING SCAMPER


There was a record turnout for this returning favorite  in 2024!

 

Race Notes:

The 2024 Bolivar Strawberry Festival 5k took place on Saturday, June 8th 2024, starting on Poplar Street, at Huntington Bank. The Finish Line was at the Village Hall Police Station, on Canal Street.

The 5k is a chip timed course that is mostly flat & fast, that takes place throughout the village during The Strawberry Festival. All proceeds from the 5K event, will benefit the Bolivar Main Street Association.

The 2024 Strawberry Festival is a three-day event that begins on June 6th that includes carnival rides, live entertainment, a strawberry eating contest, & more.

The Seedling Scamper Fun Run is held directly before the 5k. Participation is free.

Awards:

1st, 2nd, & 3rd Overall Male & Female Finishers

Top 3 Male & Female in the following age groups:

  • 13y & under • 14y- 18y • 19y- 24y
  • 25y- 29y • 30y- 34y • 35y- 39y
  • 35y- 39y • 40y- 44y • 45y- 49y
  • 50y- 54y • 55y- 59y • 60y- 64y
  • 65y- 69y • 70y- 74y • 75y- 79y
  • And 80 & over

These two events were brand new in 2023, and returned in 2024, thanks to Haven Shala & Bolivar Runner’s Club, with Race Director Lori Fritz!

Early Saturday morning the Seedling Scamper started things off when kids took their turn at a fun un-timed run before the adults got started. Each child that finished received a ribbon or medal of their own.

The 5K route snakes around and through the village. Both years, Bolivar’s local cub scout pack #92 waited at the finish line to hand out water and snacks, and we’re grateful for their return!
